Step by Step

What to Expect

🪪
Step 01

Check-In & ID Verification

Arrive at our Zephyrhills office or meet our mobile collector at your location. You'll check in with a valid government-issued photo ID — no ID, no test.

Acceptable IDs: Driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID. Have any employer or court-issued paperwork ready as well.
📋
Step 02

Consent & Chain-of-Custody Form

You'll review and sign a consent form. For employer or legal tests, a federal Chain-of-Custody (CCF) form is completed — documenting every handler of your specimen.

This paperwork is what makes results legally admissible in court, workplace hearings, and DOT compliance reviews.
🚿
Step 03

Collection Instructions

A staff member will walk you through exact instructions before collection begins. For urine tests, you'll be directed to a private restroom. No direct observation unless required by testing order.

Avoid excessive fluids before your test. Do not inform our staff of any medications until after sample collection to protect chain-of-custody integrity.
🧪
Step 04

Provide Your Sample

Collect your urine sample in the provided specimen cup. Minimum volume is required for testing — typically 30 mL. Temperature is checked immediately upon return.

If a specimen fails temperature range or shows signs of adulteration, a second collection may be required. We follow all federal specimen validity guidelines.
🔏
Step 05

Sealing & Chain-of-Custody Transfer

Your specimen is sealed with a tamper-evident label in your presence. You initial the seal to confirm it was done correctly. This is your legal protection.

The sealed specimen is packaged with the CCF and prepared for transport to our accredited lab partner — maintaining an unbroken chain of custody at every step.
🔬
Step 06

Laboratory Analysis

Your sample is submitted to a SAMHSA-certified, accredited laboratory. The lab screens for the specific panel ordered — standard 5-panel, 10-panel, DOT, or custom.

Any non-negative results undergo a second confirmatory test (GC/MS) before a result is reported. A Medical Review Officer (MRO) reviews all results before release.
Step 07

Results Delivery

Results are delivered securely — typically within 24–72 hours for standard drug tests. You and any authorized parties (employer, court, MRO) will receive results per your consent form.

Results are confidential. We never release to unauthorized third parties. Questions about results? Our staff is available to walk you through everything.
📅
Step 01

Schedule & Select Your Test

Book online or by phone and let us know which DNA test you need — paternity, relationship, prenatal, discreet, or gender reveal. Each test has slightly different requirements we'll walk you through.

You'll receive a confirmation with prep instructions. For legal tests, all parties must be present at the same appointment. For prenatal tests, only the mother needs to come in.
🪪
Step 02

Arrive & Verify Identity

All participants must present a valid government-issued photo ID at time of collection. For minors, a parent or legal guardian must be present and provide their own ID.

Acceptable IDs: Driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID. For legal DNA tests, ID verification is part of the chain-of-custody process and cannot be skipped.
📋
Step 03

Sign Consent & Chain-of-Custody Forms

Each participant reviews and signs a consent form. For legal DNA tests, a Chain-of-Custody (COC) form is completed — documenting every handler of each sample to ensure results are court-admissible.

For peace-of-mind (non-legal) tests, the COC process is simplified. Either way, we walk you through every form before you sign anything.
🧬
Step 04

Sample Collection

A trained collector performs a simple, painless buccal (cheek) swab on each participant. The swab is rubbed along the inside of the cheek for about 30 seconds — quick, comfortable, and non-invasive.

For prenatal tests, a maternal blood draw is performed instead. For discreet DNA testing, alternative sample types (clothing, personal items) are accepted — contact us before your appointment to confirm sample eligibility.
🔏
Step 05

Sealing & Documentation

Each sample is sealed in a tamper-evident envelope in your presence. You initial the seal — confirming it was done correctly in front of you. This step protects the integrity of your results.

For legal tests, the sealed samples are packaged with the completed COC form and submitted directly to our accredited lab partner under strict custody protocols.
🔬
Step 06

Laboratory Analysis

Samples are analyzed at an AABB-accredited laboratory using STR (Short Tandem Repeat) DNA profiling — the gold standard for relationship testing. Results are calculated to 99.9%+ probability of inclusion or exclusion.

Standard turnaround is 3–5 business days. Rush processing (1–2 business days) is available for most test types for an additional fee.
Step 07

Results Delivery

Results are delivered securely and confidentially — by email, secure portal, or certified mail depending on your test type and preference. Legal results include an official lab report accepted by courts and agencies.

We're here to answer any questions about your results. For legal cases, we can coordinate directly with attorneys or courts upon your written authorization.
📞
Step 01

Free Initial Consultation Call

Your journey starts with a brief 15–20 minute phone consultation at no charge. We'll discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and determine if our services are the right fit for your needs.

No pressure, no commitment. This call helps us match you with the right clinician and the most appropriate service — whether that's counseling, a psychological evaluation, or another path.
📝
Step 02

Intake Forms & Insurance Verification

Before your first session, you'll complete our intake paperwork — covering your personal history, presenting concerns, goals, and relevant background. We'll also confirm payment method at this stage.

Forms are sent electronically and can be completed from home. We keep your information strictly confidential in accordance with HIPAA privacy standards.
🤝
Step 03

First Session — Assessment & Goals

Your first appointment is a comprehensive intake session. Your clinician will review your history, explore your presenting concerns in depth, and collaboratively establish treatment goals.

This is a judgment-free conversation. You are in control of what you share and at what pace. There are no wrong answers.
📊
Step 04

Evaluation or Personalized Care Plan

For psychological evaluations, this step involves structured assessments and may span 1–2 additional sessions. For counseling clients, your clinician develops a personalized treatment plan based on your goals.

Evaluations result in a written report with findings and recommendations. Counseling plans are flexible and evolve as you progress — they're yours, not a one-size-fits-all template.
🌱
Step 05

Ongoing Sessions & Progress

Regular sessions are scheduled at a frequency that fits your needs — weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed. We monitor your progress, adjust goals as you grow, and celebrate your milestones.

Sessions are available in-person at our Zephyrhills office or remotely via telehealth. We also offer mobile visits for those who need care brought to them.
